Director of Partnerships & Communication
Jillian Reed is a musician and activist who is currently pursuing dual degrees in Human Rights and Flute Performance at Bard College and Conservatory. She has been working on Thrift 2 Fight since June 2020, and has been excited for all the ways she has been able to connect with local activists and organizers whom she admires, while supporting the work they do with the sale of another passion she has: thrifted clothing! Intersectionality is essential in this work, and she draws from her knowledge of Queer, Disability, and Abolition theory and history to shape her role as Director of Partnerships & Communication for Thrift 2 Fight.
Jillian loves to explore the places where human rights issues intersect with the arts. That interest led her to write her Human Rights thesis on institutional ableism and disability identity and resources in the classical music world. When she’s not working on Thrift 2 Fight, Jillian is usually playing flute and teaching her flute students, cooking up new vegan dishes, or walking with her pup, Clover.
